Tower Hamlets
Recorded thus in 1636 and marked on Rocque's map of 1769 and on the Ordnance Survey map of 1904. The name was first used in the 16th and 17th centuries to indicate a large area of East London from which the Lieutenant of the Tower had a right to exact guard duty and muster a militia. The name was then not used after 1918, until revived for the new London borough created in 1965.
Your GLA candidate
Name: Phil Briscoe
"I am backing Boris to be the new Mayor of London because he brings a wealth of experience and understanding to the role, and has the ambition to make London a safer, greener, cleaner, working city. London is also desperate to shake off the shackles of the current incumbent and get rid of the taxes, the burdens, the controls and the failings that see Londoners become ever more insignificant compared to the people who run this city."
You decide
Each week we'll get our GLA candidate to ask Boris a question from the ones below that you select is most important
Which of these questions would you like me to ask Boris on your behalf most?
