Havering

Modern borough (formed 1965) named from Havering-Atte-Bower. In medieval times the Royal Liberty of Havering, created by a charter of Edward IV in 1465, covered much the same area, containing as it did the parishes of Hornchurch and Romford as well as Havering-atte-Bower itself.
