Camden
Marked thus on the Ordnance Survey map of 1822, residential area so named in 1795 from Charles Pratt, Earl Camden of Camden Place, who died in 1794. He had come into possession of the manor of Kentish Town through marriage, and in 1791 began to let this part of it for building development. The London Borough of Camden was created in 1965.
