Barnet

The modern borough (created in 1965) is named from the ancient settlement, recorded as Barnetto c.1070, Barnet 1197, la Bernet 1235, La Barnette 1248, that is 'the land cleared by burning', from Old English, referring to the clearing of this once densely forested area in early times.

Your GLA candidate

Name: Brian Coleman

"I'm backing Boris because he will bring an end to the divisive and sleazy administration of Ken Livingstone and defend the views of residents of Barnet and Camden."

You decide

Each week we'll get our GLA candidate to ask Boris a question from the ones below that you select is most important

Which of these questions would you like me to ask Boris on your behalf most?

Will Boris defend the historic views across London from Hampstead Heath?
Will Boris revisit the London Plan and prevent overdevelopment of our suburban boroughs?
