Barking and Dagenham
Barking and Dagenham is the settlement of the family or followers of a man called 'Berica', from an Old English personal name with -ingas. This is therefore an Anglo-Saxon folk name of ancient type like Ealing and Havering, each representing settlements of individual family or tribal groups in the early part of the Anglo-Saxon period. The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham was created in 1965.
Your GLA candidate
Name: Phil Briscoe
"I am backing Boris to be the new Mayor of London because he brings a wealth of experience and understanding to the role, and has the ambition to make London a safer, greener, cleaner, working city.
London is also desperate to shake off the shackles of the current incumbent and get rid of the taxes, the burdens, the controls and the failings that see Londoners become ever more insignificant compared to the people who run the city."
You decide
Each week we'll get our GLA candidate to ask Boris a question from the ones below that you select is most important
Which of these questions would you like me to ask Boris on your behalf most?
